EXPERIENCE:
Julie Engbloom is one of TT & E's founding partners. With an active litigation, bankruptcy, and appellate practice focusing on complex civil and corporate matters, her practice comprises matters involving securities, investment advisory, banking, fiduciary, and consumer fraud disputes. Personable and professional, Julie combines analytical and advocacy skills on behalf of clients. Her practice includes assisting clients in navigating the complicated regulatory compliance and internal investigation landscape.
Julie also represents clients in handling data security/cyber breach events. She regularly counsels clients across all industries regarding compliance with federal and state data security requirements. She has handled numerous data security events, including phishing attacks, ransomware, and the theft of financial data, health records, and intellectual property.
Julie has been recognized as an Oregon's SuperLawyer (2023 to present) and by The Best Lawyers in America© . She is a 2016 Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and is the immediate past President of the U.S. District Court of Oregon Historical Society Board of Directors, which board she continues to sit on since 2010.
REPRESENTATIVE CASES:
Teamed up with co-founding partner Amir Tadjedin to successfully resolve three-year SEC investigation and enforcement matter for broker-dealer concerning alleged failures to safeguard customer records and private financial data. Investigation implicated data breaches implicating 4,900 customers alleged violations of Reg SP, and Sections 206(4) of the Adviser’s Act.
Represented prominent Pacific Northwest law firm against legal malpractice claims involving complex tax matters and opposing party seeking $6 million in damages.
Represented bankruptcy trustee facing claims brought by creditor in underlying bankruptcy case, alleging that it did not receive full value of debt due to alleged negligence of trustee. After successful early motion practice, claims were dismissed.
First chaired trial of claims brought against lumber company's retirement fund and obtained complete defense verdict.
Secured summary judgment on all claims brought against nationally recognized clean energy automobile company and obtained attorneys' fees award.
Represented numerous retail and consumer national banking clients in claims arising under federal and state consumer laws, such as the Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, RESPA, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Unfair Trade Practices Act, etc.
Manages response to numerous data security events, defends legal malpractice claims, and has litigated hundreds of commercial litigation cases.
