EXPERIENCE:
Jessica King is a partner at TT & E and practices out of our Los Angeles office. Her practice focuses on litigating professional liability, employment, and business matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Jessica worked in the law and motion department of a well-known Los Angeles defense firm. Before that, she spent several years prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases in Colorado. She also practiced civil litigation in Los Angeles for several years prior to becoming a prosecutor.

Obtained dismissal of petition to vacate arbitration award after filing and arguing brief demonstrating petitioner's petition was untimely; no money paid by respondent-client.

Defended national fast-food restaurant chain in litigation of negligent hiring, supervision, and retention claims arising out of former employee’s sexual molestation of underage restaurant patron.
Defended personal injury matter in which intentional tort claims were asserted against client in connection with client’s operation of heavy equipment and alleged ensuing horseplay between client and plaintiff that resulted in plaintiff being injured; wrote motion for summary adjudication of intentional torts, which resulted in case settling on favorable terms for client prior to hearing.
Defended multiple personal injury matters, which included claims for punitive damages, arising out of clients’ alleged operation of vehicles while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Defended premises liability claim against homeowners’ association for errant tree roots, which caused adjacent sidewalk to have uneven surface that plaintiff asserted caused her to fall and sustain serious injuries; wrote and argued successful motion to reopen discovery to obtain further defense medical examinations of plaintiff.
Co-chaired successful trials for prosecution of felony weapons and drug offenses.

As felony prosecutor, researched, wrote, and argued successful motion to preclude discovery of certain law enforcement monitoring technology and to hear all matters pertaining to same in camera and ex parte, which involved undecided issue of law in Colorado, thereby protecting confidential informant and undercover officer identities.
In wrongful death action in which product liability defendant sought to apply law of jurisdiction with more favorable personal injury damages caps, wrote oppositions to defendant’s motions to apply law of foreign jurisdiction and to dismiss for forum non conveniens, resulting in case settling at mediation in favor of clients for eight-figure sum.
In wrongful death action involving decedent employee who performed work for two different entities, wrote successful opposition to motion for summary judgment seeking to apply special employer doctrine, resulting in seven-figure settlement for clients.
